Passwords
How agents use passwords
How agents sign in and fill in forms without seeing your passwords, and how to save a login when an agent asks for one.
How an agent uses what you saved
Your logins and details are kept in an encrypted store on your computer or in 1Password (choose which). An agent asks for them by name only.
- The agent sees a list of what is saved: each item's title, its site and the names of its fields. It never sees the values.
- When a form needs one, the agent picks the item and the field, and Yomates types the value straight into the box on the page.
- When a sign-up form makes a password, or a dashboard issues an API key, the agent can save it from the page into the store, again without seeing it.
Not only logins
An item is a title and any fields you want. Keep a shipping address, a phone number, a business registration number or a card the same way. After the first time, an agent fills that form from the saved item instead of asking you again.
Save a login when an agent asks
When an agent needs something you haven't saved, it opens a panel above the message box with one box per field: a username and password, or the boxes the form has, such as email, address or PIN.
- Type the values into the boxes. Passwords, PINs, keys and codes are hidden as you type.
- Click SAVE.
The values go into the store, and the agent is told only that they were saved. It then fills in the form, and a line stays in the chat saying the item was saved.
To skip, press Esc or click the ✕. The agent decides what to do without it.
Saving again under a title that already exists updates that item: a new password keeps the username already there. To change an item later, see See and edit saved details.
Don't type passwords into the chat. The agent reads every message in the chat; the panel is the way to keep a value out of it.
The panel can't be answered from Telegram, Slack or Discord. If an agent asks while you're away, the bot tells you to open Yomates on the computer. See Telegram, Slack and Discord.
